So, I'm not dead. I've been on Twitter but I understand my Twitter is full-on but here is not.
  • I figured out what was going somewhat wrong with my brain. I have been taking Tramadol and SSRIs in combination for over two years now, but lately due to the extreme cold I've been taking them daily, and they've been interacting with the Prozac sending me completely loopy. Most of the Tramadol should be out of my system now, but I'm not sure what I can do about pain. Lyrica isn't really an option as the potential for massive weight gain is so high, and it makes me fuzzy-headed and effectively stoned. It also isn't subsidized, so I could get it for $60-ish if I get my private health sorted. I'm thinking I might try maca again, and look for some relaxing teas, herbs, or something.

  • I watched WrestleMania 19 (for the first time since I was ~12) last night. It amused me greatly, and I'm so sad that Y2J/Shawn Michaels never took off as a pairing. I could read that all damn day (which I pretty much did).

  • Haven't been able to afford any wrestling DVDs, which makes me sad, too. I want to get back into the indies!

  • Still poor, poor enough that I can't afford to purchase a paid subscription to DW. It's getting on my nerves. I wish more of you would move to Twitter as opposed to moving to Tumblr, as I can't stand the latter.

  • I probably should make a comment regarding my hatred of Tumblr. It's not that I hate the people using it, although there have been a few incidents; it's just the culture of squee is not my thing. I can't get behind unthoughtful consumption of media in such a way, and I don't think it's possible to have any kind of discussion on Tumblr. Many of the things on it make me very angry (i.e. Sherlock, which you know, and Loki-squee, which you may not know). I can't abide by the rule "don't you dare criticise what I like" because I'm so willing to have what I like criticised and be forced to defend why I like it, rather than "it pleases my ovaries".

Fandom updates, of a sort?

  • I have been watching a lot of wrestling, and thinking about spending mega-bucks on buying AIW DVDs (thanks to [info]sarisynn's recs). I should download them (I'm certainly poor enough as it is), but I would feel really bad.

  • Have been plotting writing a Jericho/Punk fic because OH MY GOD, WAS THEIR WM MATCH SEX OR NOT. Jericho ruffled Punk's hair, for crying out loud. I can't stop giggling at Jericho's bringing back the vinyl/leather pants. What is he, Madonna?

  • I went to the cinema to see The Hunger Games. It was disturbing, to say the least. I did not like the shakycam (it gave me a headache, and I actually had to shut my eyes in the beginning, when it was at its worst). I would recommend it, but I'm not sure I would squee about it, but I can see why younger people are. It's very deep for a teen book/film hybrid.

  • I'm sad that the A-Team meme ([info]ateam_prompts) is shutting down, and I really need to get my butt into gear and finish bookmarking all the fills, and saving the meme itself to my hard-drive.</a>

  • That last thing reminds me, I'm in the market for a cheap 1TB USB hard-drive to back stuff up to?

So I decided to come back from the land of the lurker. I've been around; just tweeting instead of posting. Not a lot has happened and I felt down and alone. I'm feeling a little better now, so I'm making a promise to blog more and keep in touch with people from both DW and LJ. I will be doing a little cut of communities and a tiny few of you, who have moved on to different fandoms and lives, so I can keep up better.

  1. LJ has deployed (the comments there express the issues far more eloquently than I can at 2:23 AM) their failtastic new design of comment pages. ETA: I'm told custom comment pages are largely inaccessible (mine is, sadly, and I have not the spoons to fix it). Only paid accounts can have custom comment pages (and doing so is a temporary band-aid), and anon lurkers without an account will be forced to get one if they want an interface that is half decent. Anon memes will be affected by this. There are also social issues with the lack of subject lines, as they are commonly used for trigger warnings and the lack thereof is dangerous.

  2. I'm using Scrapbook and the LJ Thread Expander Greasemonkey script to back up the A-Team kink meme ([info]ateam_prompts) to my hard drive.

  3. I'm happy for anybody who needs to, to share my paid account and use the expand links to save their favourite kink meme.

  4. Fanlore would welcome, once you have backed up your meme, any history you might have to offer. We also need coverage of this latest fail by LJ.

Lyrica takes away the fibro pain, sort of, but also removes my verbal filter. Exhibit A:
Also Face/Murdock doooominated web fandom, from what I've been able to discover in TV!fandom. Though, if anybody considers differently, feel free to go nuts on the Fanlore article on the A-Team (I started documenting stuff, and then I got sick, and urgh).

I will just sit here, and play Nethack. I don't want to let the A-Team meme down in the bookmarking, it's just things (like my health!) keep getting in the way and stopping me. It's been all I can do to keep up with OTW stuff, and I have more on my plate with Fanlore plans.

As [personal profile] lizbee said (via [personal profile] kerravonsen):
Just as a heads up, LJ's new code push included some truly impressive bugs, the most notable being that people are finding themselves logged in to other people's accounts. With complete access to locked and private entries, comments, everything.

If you would like a DW invite, just ask here! Comments are screened so you can provide your email, though if you would prefer, you may also email me at awils_1 (at) xsmail (dot) (com)
